Tanya Ward Jordan, a native Washingtonian, is a long-time advocate in the whistle blower community. After a 26-year career in the federal government, in 2009 Tanya founded The Coalition For Change, Inc., (C4C). As President of the Washington, DC-based non-profit, organization, Tanya leads a self-help network for employees who challenge racism and reprisal in the federal workplace. She prides herself as a “truth-teller” a.k.a whistleblower. Tanya has dedicated her life to exposing how the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s shortcomings harm civil servants and as a consequence the American society at large.

To her credit, Tanya once served as a member of the Department of Commerce’s Secretary Ron. H. Brown’s Diversity Counsel, the Legislative chair of the NAACP Federal Sector Task Force, and an active member of the No FEAR Coalition helping to convene the first Whistleblower Week in Washington conference on Capitol Hill. Notably, she received a congressional award for her input into the “Notification and Federal Anti-Discrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002 (No FEAR),” which was the first United States civil rights law of the 21st Century. Tanya served as a consultant on a documentary entitled the Last American Plantation. The film exposed the Department of Agriculture’s discrimination against black American farmers. In 2014, Tanya received the Fannie Lou Hamer Civil Rights Activist of the Year recognition from the African American Voice Newspaper; and in 2015, she received national recognition from the NAACP, when the civil rights group listed Tanya as a Black History Maker. In 2017, Tanya received congressional recognition from Representative Elijah Cummings for her invaluable input on a bill that became law and known as the Elijah Cummings Federal Employee Antidiscrimination Act of 2020. Tanya Ward Jordan, is the author of 17 Steps: A Federal Employee’s Guide For Tackling Workplace Discrimination and “Blowing the Whistle on the EEOC.” She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from the University of Maryland College Park, and Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).
