A seasoned attorney with a deep understanding of financial regulations and corporate governance, Ted Glotfelty focuses on business transactional matters at Ambrose Lazarow, PLLC. Drawing on his extensive background in federal investigations and regulatory compliance, Ted advises businesses on mergers and acquisitions, securities compliance, and corporate governance, helping clients structure deals, mitigate legal risks, and navigate complex regulations.
Before joining the firm, Ted spent over 15 years in federal service, where he built and led investigative programs for multiple Offices of Inspectors General. As Assistant Inspector General for Investigations at the U.S. AbilityOne Commission OIG, he spearheaded investigations into False Claims Act violations related to federal set-aside programs for Americans who are blind or severely disabled, overseeing matters involving billions of dollars in government contracts.
Prior to that, he served as the first-ever Assistant Inspector General for Investigations at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where he developed and led the agency’s investigative program, handling interagency civil and criminal fraud investigations. His previous roles at the CFTC also included serving as a senior trial attorney and attorney-advisor, where he worked on regulatory enforcement and financial litigation.
Ted began his legal career as a law clerk for a federal judge in Texas, gaining invaluable experience in litigation and judicial decision-making. In addition to his legal training, he is a graduate with honors from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s program for special agents. Ted holds a J.D. from the George Mason University – Antonin Scalia Law School, an M.A. in Economics from George Mason University, and a B.A. from James Madison University
