College Students and adult children of whistleblowers are invited to volunteer and train to become a youth mentor.
Giraffe Camp is an exciting event for young people (ages 12-17) interested in being social justice advocates that runs concurrently with the 5th Annual Workplace Promise Institute Conference from September 17 to 19, 2025. While parents are engaged in the conference, their children will embark on an adventure of their own, including a trained mentor led guided tour to places like the US Congress, Smithsonian, and the Word Museum in Washington, D.C., opportunities to join conference activities, and a variety of fun and educational experiences related Prosocial and Sustainable Development Goals. Giraffe Camp is designed to inspire young minds, offering a unique blend of exploration, learning, and community involvement.
School districts will provide students with community service hours that Whistleblowers of America will certify for the students who attend Giraffe Camp and volunteer at the conference. https://dcps.dc.gov/page/community-service
